Peanut butter treat from preschool?

I remember making/eating a treat back in preschool. It had peanut butter and was a bit grainy. You could also mold it into various shapes... anyone know what this could be? I know it was quite popular.

  1. We use to make <and yes with parent permission and making sure no one was allergic> Rice Krispie squares but we added peanut better and Karo syrup....it still uses some marshmallows but less......I recently found the recipe on the site Cooks.com   It really came out great and we add chocolate chips to it and it is really good!

I am not sure if that could be it.

  2. In my district, most peanut items (including peanut butter) are STRICTLY forbidden because so many children (and adults) have such severe peanut allergies.

I would check and recheck to make sure using this will not be hazardous to anyone -- staff OR students.

  3. It was probably made from peanut butter, dried milk and honey.

  4. if youre just making them for yourself they were called "peanut butter balls"

i can remember the ingredients but not the amt

    peanut butter

    honey

    oatmeal

    powered milk

mix together and form into balls, and refridgerate to keep forms, and then eat,,,,,,have also seen them with raisins, and nuts mixed in also with coconut flakes  may be with the ingredients you can find the amounts....maybe try allrecipies.com

  5. Excuse me wabookwarm, that's such a conservative-like response. You seems have misinterpreted the question or even not read it properly. She's only reminiscing about a peanut butter treat from her younger days. It's not like she's gonna feed to entire school of people that have peanut allergies. I have no idea what the treat is but I just had to reponse to the rash way in which bookworm answered this question.

  6. I have made peanut butter playdough with dried milk, wheat germ, honey, and peanut butter. If I remeber correctly the wheat germ is what made it grainy. You can probably find a recipe online.

  7. It could be peanut butter playdough.

  8. The only thing I can think of is "buckeye balls". The peanut butter was mixed with icing sugar and perhaps other ingredients, then rolled into a ball.  Sometimes it was covered in chocolate.  Does this sound like what you ate?

  9. She was wanting to know the name of a treat she had a long time ago.  She didn't say I want to serve this at a preschool.

On the subject of peanut or any food allergies.  All parents enrolling their children in a day care have to fill out all sorts of information including allergies.  I worked at KinderCare for 4 years and we served peanut butter.  Every classroom had a list of allergies.  Get a life people.  Just because one kid might be allergic to it doesn't mean they can't serve it at all.  There are more kids allergic to milk then peanuts.  Should day care centers stop serving milk?
