Pedals, Sealed or Unsealed??

Can someone please explain to me the difference between sealed and unsealed pedals, and also the pros and cons of each. Thank You.

  1. The difference between 'sealed' and 'unsealed' is that the 'sealed' bearings are covered by a cover and the bearings cannot be reached by water, grime, dirt, etc. Which means that they last longer. Unsealed bearings have no seal whatsoever and is more likely to be exposed to water, grime, dirt, etc. This means that the bearings will rust/corrode.
