Pedro Leon reveals Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho blocked his move to Chelsea
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 under-21 international, then Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti was quite
keen on bringing him to the London club but the transfer did not take place since Jose Mourinho blocked the move.
The Spaniard signed with Real Madrid in the summer of 2010, but rarely appeared for the La Liga side throughout the season. He made 14 appearances in all competitions, where he managed to score two goals and provide one assist. The reason Leon was left out
of the squad was the fact that he never managed to win over the former Chelsea boss, Mourinho.
It was the Portuguese manager who apparently blocked his move to the London side in the January transfer window. Leon was forced to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu as a bench warmer, being denied a chance at regular football with the Premier League side.
The winger was understandably bitter about having to remain at Madrid when he was apparently of no use to the manager.
Leon said in an interview:
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and of course I was excited about the possibility.
The coach gave me his opinion and told me he would not let me go. He told me I would not play much in London.

Honestly, my opinion is that Chelsea's coach [then] was Carlo Ancelotti, not him.”
The Spanish winger said his time at Madrid had been nothing short of a nightmare, with Mourinho doing everything he could to make life unbearable for him. After dropping Leon from the UEFA Champions League squad, Mourinho went on to ridicule the player during
a press conference after Leon tried to justify his absence. It seems unlikely Leon will be returning to Madrid after his season long loan with Getafe comes to an end in the summer.
He revealed:
“I felt humiliated at Madrid. I am not aware of doing anything wrong. I did all I could, I was professional, I worked hard.

I think that everyone who is under a contract should be treated the same way, but I do not have any reason to complain about the club.”
