Pedro Rodriguez speaks after the El Clasico
Barcelona faced their arch rivals Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga over the weekend. The Catalan giants drew the game 1-1 while being away from home at the Santiago Bernabeu.
It was a tough game for the Spanish Champions.
Barcelona won the first El Clasico of the season by five goals to nil. Real Madrid was totally humiliated as they visited the Spanish Champions at the Nou Camp.
With their pride on the line in this game, Jose Mourinho gave all that he had against one of the best teams in the world and was able to draw 1-1.
The game definitely did not end without controversial decisions taken by the referee.
However, the Barcelona stars decided not to comment much on the negative side of the tale and while giving their reviews about the game, they only spoke about the positive outcome of the game.
Barcelona is still eight points clear to Real Madrid despite dropping two points away from home. This is the first time that Josep Guardiola dropped points against Real Madrid.
Since his arrival at the Catalan club, Guardiola has not lost a single game against the Los Blancos.
In fact, this was the first time that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 did “not” win against Real Madrid during Josep Guardiola’s era.
The Spanish Champions dominated 72% of the game as they welcomed their captain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carles-Puyol-c8331, making a return to the pitch after almost two and a half months.
It was simply incredible to see how an away team was dominating the ball for such long periods of time.
However, Real Madrid were the side who had a more direct approach towards the game and tried to steal the win away from Barcelona.
Barcelona was not given a penalty during the first half.

However, the referee thought otherwise and accused David Villa of a dive inside the area.
Later, Barcelona did get a penalty which http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 comfortably slotted home to give Barcelona a goal’s lead.
Later, Real Madrid was controversially given a penalty. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcelo-c23554 inside the 18 yard box.
It was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 who easily scored the penalty to bring the game on level terms and that is just how it ended, 1-1, to both the teams.
One man who was quite silent throughout the fixture was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pedro-c29582 Rodriguez.
The Spaniard was on a great run of scoring goals. However, since returning from his groin injury he still hasn’t found the net.
Pedro spoke after the game and told the press how he felt.
He said that he is happy that his side played well. The Spaniard said that the team still has the same gap with the second placed side and that is what matters.
He also spoke about the Cup final. Pedro Rodriguez said that he doesn’t know how Real Madrid is going to approach the Cup final but his side is still prepared to impress.
He said:
"We don’t know how they’ll play in the Cup Final, we know it will be very difficult and really hard, but we’ll try to win.”
He also said that the game that took place at the Santiago Bernabeu is not going to have any effect on the Cup game that is going to take place on Wednesday.
He said:
"The final will be totally different. What happened here today won’t have any effect on that game."
On Wednesday Barcelona are going to face Real Madrid for the second time in less than a week.
