Pedro de la Rosa feels confident about his future in HRT – Formula 1 news
HRT driver Pedro de la Rosa has said that he is feeling confident about his race seat in his current team for the 2013 Formula 1 season.
De la Rosa joined the Madrid based team in this season and has a contract of one more year. Although, there have been a lot of rumours that he may leave his team at the end of this season. However, he has discharged all the speculations and has said that
he is positive about his race seat in the team for the next year.
“There is no news on this side. I have a two-year contract and I've always seen this as a two-year project minimum, because of how difficult it is to start in F1 from zero,” de la Rosa told AUTOSPORT.
In addition, he said that he is positively looking forward to perform well in the coming year and is hoping to attain better results for his team.
“So I know the second year will be better and that's why I wanted to stay for a second year. That's all I can say. I don't know what the team will do with the other driver, but I will stay here,” he said.
Besides, he said that he has developed a very good affiliation with his team and feels really pleased with the way all the members work together.
“I have a contract, and the team is happy with me and I'm happy with the team,” he added.
It will be important to note that he has also been surrounded by many reports which are stating that HRT may replace him with a driver who will bring more funds for the team in the next year. Nonetheless, he has completely dismissed all the rumours and has
said that if it happens in future, he will be very much surprised.
Even though, he is presently standing at the end of the grid behind his teammate, Narain Karthikeyan, nonetheless, he is targeting to come up stronger in the remainder of the season.
