Pedro de la Rosa thinks HRT will struggle in 2012 Belgian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
HRT driver Pedro de la Rosa has said that they will face difficulties due to some unfavourable factors in the 2012 Belgian Grand Prix which is to be held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
De la Rosa said that they could not manage to collect the necessary information to make the essential evaluations about their updates during the free Friday practice which was hit by rain.
Moreover, he said that they are hoping to see the favourable weather conditions on the race day so as to attain competitive results.
"Unfortunately it looks dry," de la Rosa told ESPNF1. "It's quite strange when you look at the weather forecast for Spa and see 0% (rain chance) on Saturday and Sunday, so I must admit that I think they'll be right because otherwise if you have any doubt then you but 5% or 10% or whatever. So it looks dry, and this will not help us because we need action. Dry races are more predictable than wet races and changeable races like we've had here when they start wet, they go dry and finish wet again for example would be fantastic."
In addition, he said that their main issue is the lack of downforce at the high speed corners of the track which was seen in the British GP at Silverstone Circuit. Nonetheless, he said that they are contended with their low speed and braking system.
Besides, he said that it is really important for them to find the solution of the problems which they are encountered with right now, in order to secure a reasonable place in the championship fight.
Additionally, he said that they mostly perform better with the soft Pirelli compound tyres as compared to the medium and hard ones. Therefore, they are worried about their performance in the race ahead in which the weather has been forecasted to be cloudy.
Above and beyond, he said that their aim is to keep on working hard to find the solutions of the ongoing issues and are positively looking forward to score points in the forthcoming races.
Let’s see how the Madrid based team performs in the approaching season.
