Question:

Pedrosa will he ever be World Champion?

A little bit behind this weekend have only just had the chance to watch the race. That plus the news that followed about Pedrobot's tyre switch made me start to wonder if he has it in him to go on and actually win a MotoGP championship, or is the mighty Honda barking up the wrong tree.

No wonder Microsoft pulled out of the deal.

To answer your question ................ NO.

He is a world champ already dont forget. 3 times . A very very good one at that, but, he will not be MotoGP champ whilst Rossi / Stoner are around.

I for one hope next year, when Lorenzo has calmed down,  he goes out in 09 and kicks Dani-bots behind on French rubber.

Now that would make my year !

  2. Hi Richard G, I was just looking at his test times

    http://www.motogpmatters.com/

I see he has been testing the air valve as well as the Bridgestones.

I was interested to see on the spring valve Shinya was quicker than him. the footnote thinks his best time was on a qualifier. but that tim is just stoners race pace.  there is no doubting Dani's talent. but I do think HRC have put all their eggs in one basket with him. I think they still believe the small bike small rider theory. (forgetting about Braking) personally for the way HRC treated Nicky I don't care if they ever win a title again. But I'm a big Dovi fan and hope he gets a shot at the title with HRC. Damned either way i think.

To answer the question I think he has his number now. its not going to get any smaller.

  3. Not while Stoner, Rossi and Elias are around.

  4. No

he seemed consistent at the start of the year but if he has to blame it on hate tyres which are the same as altot of others then he will never become number one onmtggp

  5. Certainly not this season -

However, this doesn't count out future seasons - Pedrobot is a very talented young rider -

Miserable granted - but yes he has every chance of winning a Motogp championship !!

  6. Not this season, if he carrys on throwing easy points away, in silly accidents.  He's lost his nerve at the moment, but once he moves onto Bridgestones and it becomes a one tyre GP, then possibly next season or when Rossi retires.

  7. Hi RICHARD G

Yes, I think Dani has every chance of becoming a motogp world champion. And as already pointed out by Wiggysan, he's already been a champ 3 times against the likes of Stoner, Lorenzo and Dovizioso. Many people put it down to his ultra light weight, but that has just as many disadvantages as advantages. Besides, in the 125 class they run to a minimum weight limit for bike and rider.

I think that once HRC sort their air valve motor out (and they will), Dani will be one of four, maybe five people capable of stringing enough decent results together to win a championship.

I would be prepared to put money on him being champion within the next 3 years!
