  1. No, it's not weird at all.  Many men suffer this condition which is commonly referred to as being "pee shy".  It's caused by anxiety.  Since I was in 3rd grade, I didn't like using a urinal in a crowded bathroom and preferred a stall.  When I entered an empty mens room, I loved to use the urinal.  I felt like more of a man peeing in a urinal then when I used a stall.  Once I was peeing, I was fine.  If someone walked in before I started the flow, I often couldn't relax enough to release the flow and was embarrassed.  When I was a student at the university in the '90s, I really wanted to use only a urinal and pee like all the other guys.  I decided that I had to fix my problem.  I used logic and behavior conditioning and learned to relax enough to start peeing.  Even when it took a while to start, I was determined to stay there until I peed.  I tuned everyone else out, looked straight ahead, and eventually would pee.  After months of doing this, it became fairly easy to use any of the urinals on campus, even when crowded.  A few years later, I used a trough urinal at a crowded concert with guys waiting behind me.  I was proud of being able to start peeing easily without hesitation once I unzipped.  It's a relief to no longer be pee shy.
