Peer v Li in Dubai quarters – who will win?

Shahar Peer will face Li Na in the quarter-finals of the 2010 Dubai Tennis Championships. Peer defeated top seed Caroline Wozniacki in the third round of the tournament, so is in some pretty good form. But Li reached the semis at the Australian Open.

Li has won both their previous encounters – both played in 2008 – and is seeded eighth here. There have been enough upsets so far though to know that the unseeded players can’t be dismissed – and Peer is responsible for at least two of them. She’s got a lot to prove in Dubai too – she wasn’t here last year because of visa problems. With no great certainty, Li’s my pick.
