Question:

Pegnat while on birth control pills?

My symptoms are: painful b*****s, had some abdominal pain (I don't know how to describe it, however it could have been as well my intestins) and I smoke a lot less for some reason. The first cigarette in the morning made me awfully dizzy and I started shaking.

In case it would be pregnancy, yes I intend to keep it. And, yes, if I find that I am pregnant I will quit smoking imediately. Just mentioing it so that nobody else feels like telling me.

I will do a test tomorrow, but in the meanwhile just to prepare myself, I am asking you: what are the odds for this to happen? For those who got pregnant while on the pill, please tell me what your symptoms were. I didn't miss any pill, I take them with responsability never missing a day, but I don't always take them same time every day, sometimes I take them one or two hours later than usually. Thanks

  1. I was on birth control pills. I am due in two months. I suspected pregancy because I kept getting mild cramps like my period was coming... but guess what.. it never did. I really didn't have any symptoms after conception, like I said it was cramping with no period for me. If my b***s were tender (I honestly don't remember) then I probably thought again... it was because my period was coming. I also had no morning sickness at all... everyone is different. Good luck either way... hope it works out the way you want.

  2. It is possible.  Being on the pill and a smoker- you are really chasing some really serious problems.  I'd educate yourself on that.  And, if you are pregnant but still taking the pill, that can cause a miscarriage.  If you think you are, you should probably stop until you know for sure.  One or two hours in your time of taking it shouldn't make that much of a difference.  I do that and I've been on it for 20 years.

  3. I was on the pill too - I felt sick in the morning - had bad headaches too.  I would get ready for work and then try to put on my favorite perfume and couldn't the smell would just make me sick!

  4. Even without missing a pill a lot of women get pregnant on the pill.  I think the stats of the effectiveness of the pill are severely misrepresented.  I got pregnant on the pill, took it every single day at the same exact time.

  5. if you take your pill as you say then your odds are slim of being pregnant. A couple hours between when you take the pill each day will not effet the effectiveness.

Plus, abdominal pain is not a very common sign of pregnancy.

painful b*****s happen to woman at different times throughout their cycle. Sometimes mine would hurt and other times they didnt.

As for the dizzy cigarette you may have just been dehydrated or something.

I would say: Chances are slim, take a test tomorrow to be sure and maybe this would be a good time to try to quit smoking since you are already cutting back for no reason!!!

    good luck!

  6. it can happen while on the pill...if your test shows negative i would go to the doctor for blood work to be done.

Make sure you stop taking the pill untill you find out forsure what the answer is.

  7. Okay if I didnt know any better I would have thought I wrote this myself. Im not kidding. Not to mention Im also 15 weeks pregnant. Word for word.....you should take a test...I had to take three til if came out positive. Quit smoking right now though. Until you know. If you can do it when you know, you should be able to do it now.

  8. pills are 96% safe in preventing pregnancy so it deff is possible. timeframe would help answer but you wont show positive till arround 3weeks, with my second child i knew i was pregnant with my symptoms but tested negative twice on tests. if you are congrats and good for you that you plan on stopping smoking you will feel so much better and be healthier.

  9. I got pregnant while on the pill, but I didn't know it until I had bled for three weeks straight and went to the doctor and found out I was miscarrying. I had no symptoms. I must have gotten pregnant and immediately miscarried. I felt guilty because I was on the pill and I thought that was why I had miscarried, but my doctor said that birth control pills cannot cause a miscarriage, so try not to  worry about that.

  10. That is really odd, because my girlfriend may be having the same issue... We should talk. O.O

  11. Wow .. Karma is kickin you in the can big time ..lol .. Call in and talk about it !
