Peguy Luyindula of Paris Saint-Germain could get help from UNFP – Ligue 1 news
French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have apparently frozen out French striker Peguy Luyindula and the 32-year-old has been consigned to the PSG reserve team by coach Antoine Kombouare till further notice.
However, reports in French media suggest that the former Lyon striker might get some help from Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionnels which is the players’ association for players playing football in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899.
The Kinshasa-born striker has been at the Parc des Princes since 2007 when he joined the Parisian club from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127. The much-travelled French international has so far made 130 appearances for the newly-rich capital club and has scored just
19 goals.
With the arrival of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Salvatore-Sirigu-c32282 joined the club.
It was widely thought that Luyindula would be forced to leave Parc des Princes but the 32-year-old chose to stay at the club in hope of getting some playing time at the club. However, the arrival of Pastore and Gameiro along with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jeremy-Menez-c18345 meant that
Luyindula would never assert his authority in the side.
Kombouare sent Luyindula to the reserves ahead of the start of the 2011/2012 campaign in a situation that has become unbearable for the former Marseille man. Luyindula is also not impressed with PSG’s handling of his case and has said that he never had any
problems at the club.
While talking to Le Parisien, the Frenchman said, “When someone is sidelined by his club and does not want to sell him either, every one imagines that the player is probably a trouble maker. However that’s not the case.”
Reports now indicate that Luyindula might get some help from UNFP who are more than willing to help the troubled striker.
President of UNFP, Philippe Piat said, “A professional player should be able to train at the same times as others with at least ten players under professional contract with trainees who are surrounded by qualified coaches. If Luyindula wants help, he can
call us for if we find any legal loophole, we can force the club to reinstate him.”
With the UNFP already voicing their opinion on the Luyindula saga, it seems only a matter of time that Luyindula will contact the association in order to take action against a club that has definitely not handled one of its players’ case very professionally.
