Pei Hsin Chiang overpowers Sarah Walker in Women’s Singles qualifying round of 2011 Dutch Open GP
Chinese Taipei’s Pei Hsin Chiang has booked her spot into Women’s Singles main round, as she overpowered England’s Sarah Walker in the qualifying round of the 2011 Dutch Open GP, in Netherlands, on Tuesday, October 11.
Hsin Chiang proved her worth in the last match of qualifying round and reserved a well-deserved place in the main round. She played tremendous badminton against Walker and emerged as the winner in straight games by taking just 22 minutes in the court.
The Taipei shuttler displayed her superior skills in the match and thrashed her rival without showing any mercy. She missed no opportunity to dominate the game and put pressure on her opponent in the whole contest.
Walker failed to break the flow of her aggressive challenger and lost the match without winning even a single game.
Hsin Chiang played with courage as she executed many risky strokes in the start and remained successful in putting up pressure on her opponent. Her wonderful down the line smashes helped her to take a striking lead in the first half of the game. Walker could
not play well and remained trailing far behind.
The Taipei shuttler continued her smooth run after the interval. She missed no chance to kill the bird by executing accurate smashes in the gaps in her rival’s court. Hsin Chiang’s power-play earned her an opening set advantage as she finished the game with
a striking margin of 21-12 in just 9 minutes.
Both shuttlers played well in the opening points of the second game and progressed closely. The English shuttler was employing powerful strokes this time to dominate the rallies. However, Hsin Chiang was playing at the same speed and remained positive.
The match entered into the concluding points when the Taipei shuttler accelerated her speed. She remained successful in pushing her opponent on the back foot. Hsin Chiang stamped her superiority over Walker by winning the set in a remarkable way with a 21-15
score in 13 minutes.
This 22-minute fight ended with the victory of Hsin Chiang, who finished off the match with a margin of 21-12 and 21-15.
