I'm thinking of buying a pekingese but I have a five member family and I read that pekingeses love their master and ignore the others but how do I make him to only love me?? I dont want the peke to love my brothers more than me! what to I do?

well i have had a pekingese before and i sleep with her feed her and groomed her every day, after a week or two she wouldn't stop following me!

sadly she has passed away two years ago

To be No 1 in your dogs life you have to earn it. You do this by feeding him, grooming him, training him, taking him for walks, playing with him and tending to his day to day needs. Taking on a dog is a big responsibility and if you leave all of the above to someone else you will never be No.1 in his life.

well a pekingese is just like a baby duckling that just hatched. so you see you have to make sure that youre the first person to walk in the door, the first to pick it up, so basically the first it sees. if it sees anyone before you, even the pet store guy, then you will have lost its love forever. so you have to boldly walk in FIRST and swoop it  up and look it straight in the eyes and say 'i am the master. you will love ME the most. forget the others.' and then you can go to normal, and let it see everyone else, and they can hold it,  but from that moment on, it will like you the best.    your welcome dollface

if you buy a pekingese and you want him to love you more,all you got to do is spend more time with him.And he will love you more.

from any dogs point of view, you will be equal to him and so will any of your brothers/sisters.

dogs are pack animals, who only recogise one leader. in your house, that will be whoever is the boss (mum or dad i suspect). that is not to say that your pekenese wont like you all, only that it will see itself as an equal, a person with whom to have fun with etc.

just like every living thing, you cant make a dog like you more than others.

Spend as much time with him as possible.  Although your family/parents aren't going to be very pleased with you trying to win over "everyones" puppy. But just be the one that takes him/her outside, try to be there to feed him/her etc.  Try to be there as much as possible during the puppy stages of its life and it will bond with you no matter what.  Plus giving it tons of more attention than everyone elses wont hurt either lol.

If you want a dog that actually turns his head and growls when other try to crab him but at the same time if you do it it's all fine, get a shih-tzu.

Wherever you read that, I dont think it is true. I own a pekignese mix, and it loves everybody. They are really cool dogs accually. You should adopt one, and train it yourself. If you do that, they will leaRN TO LOVE YOU
