The Brazilian legend, Pele, has raised concerns over the credibility of Barcelona’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 saying that the Argentinean is overrated as a player. The Brazilian disagrees with a host of people who regard Messi as one of the world’s best players. Pele
believes that Messi is overhyped and is not as good as the legendary players of the past like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-c25453 Platini, Alfredo Di Stefano and Johan Cruyff.
The 70-year-old was of the view that Messi’s performances in Argentina’s shirt have not been up to the mark and a true player should be as dedicated towards his country as he is towards his club. He reckons that there are many players of Messi’s calibre
but no one can even come close to the talent of Cruyff, Platini or Stefano.
Pele believes that people must have forgotten the class of the above mentioned trio, otherwise, they would have never compared Messi to the legends of the past. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c40446 striker added, “People like to compare but they seem to have forgotten [Johan]
Cruyff, [Michel] Platini and [Alfredo] Di Stefano, who were better than [Lionel] Messi.”
Cruyff is a Dutch legend who netted 33 times from a total of 48 appearances for the Oranje. Platini scored 41 goals from 72 appearances in Les Blues jersey, while Stefano slammed in 23 goals for the Spanish national side from 31 appearances. Messi, on the
other hand, has managed 16 goals for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 from a total of 55 appearances.

But I have no doubt that as a team Barcelona
are the best in the world.”
Though the former Brazil international never called Messi a great player, he still believes that the 23-year-old would be a key factor during the Wembley final.
