Pelican Rock likely to dominate the Golf and Racing At Southwell Handicap
The Golf and Racing At Southwell Handicap is an important event for horse-racing enthusiasts. The event will be held at Southwell on 21st February, 2012. 7 runners will be competing for a purse worth £1,704, across a 1 mile racecourse.
The runners competing are:
Samasana,
Canningvale,
Angel Warrior,
J.J. Leary,
Pelican Rock,
Smart Affair,
Rhyme Royal
Pelican Rock’s form is currently outstanding as he is performing extremely well. The 3-year-old son of Amadeus Wolf, out of Darby Shaw, has left a mark in his last race. He finished second in the Book Your Tickets On-Line At Southwell-Racecourse.co.uk
Maiden Handicap, at Southwell, on 7th February, 2012, where he was beaten by Samasana.
Samasana, the 3-year-old daughter of Redback, out of Singitta, is trained by Ian Wood. Her performance is improving with every race.
She secured a victory in her last race on 14th February, 2012. She successfully defeated First Bid, in the Southwell Handicap, which was held at Southwell.
Her owner, Paddy Barrett, and breeder, Patrick Cassidy, are extremely proud of their horse.
Canning Vale had a disappointing seasonal debut. The daughter of Araafa, out of Elegant Beauty, finished in 8th place, in the Roulette At Bluesq.com/Casino Handicap, at Lingfield, which was held on 12th January, 2012.
Angel Warrior competed in his first race of the season, on 3rd February, 2012, in the Play Bingo Free At Bluesq.com Handicap, at Wolverhampton.
His trainer, Ben Haslam, was not pleased with his performance as he finished in 6th place. He is hoping that he will show improvement in his race.
J.J. Leary, the son of Amadeus Wolf, out of Nautical Design, will be competing in his third race this month.
He finished in third place twice. He was defeated by Samasana and Pelican Rock on 7th February, 2012, in the Book Your Tickets On-Line At Southwell-Racecourse.co.uk Maiden Handicap.
He repeated this performance in the Southwell Handicap, on 14th February, 2012. Both of these races were hosted at Southwell.
His trainer, Ian Williams, and his owner, Dr. Marwan Koukash, are hoping that J.J. Leary will be able to overcome this challenge and gain pace in the beginning of the race.
Based on previous performances, Samasana is the one to beat as she is on a winning streak. If she is victorious in this race, her hat-trick will be complete.
Pelican Rock is attracting bets and punters are somewhat confident that he will perform well and may secure a first place finish.
Based on the fact that J.J Leary is not progressing and retaining the same position, it is expected that he will finish in third place.
