Pelican Rock was one and a half lengths adrift from the winner, Samasana who was ridden by Tony Hamilton.
Finishing third behind the winner was J J Leary.
On 21st February, Pelican Rock encountered Samasana a second time while being the part of the lineup for Golf And Racing At Southwell Handicap at Southwell over a mile.
Entered as the 5/4 favourite, Pelican Rock qualified as the runner up after joining the winner of the race, Samasana, who was in lead of the track by three lengths.
Ending third on the lineup of six was Smart Affair.
Both the times, Pelican Rock has fell victim to the racing technique of Samasana and her jockey, Tony Hamilton, the pair initially excelled by one and a half length which multiplied to three by the next race.
However, this time around Samasana is not on the lineup which gives Pelican Rock all the chance to dominate the field today. Looking out for Bountiful Catch would be handy for Pelican Rock because Bountiful Catch has been on the same race course twice during
the previous season thus entitling him experienced for the track.
