Malaga CF boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-c23383 Pellegrini, reiterated that his team will not play for a draw when they face AC Milan tonight at the San Siro.
This is the first time ever Malaga have qualified for Europe’s most prestigious competition, the UEFA Champions League. They have started their new campaign in Europe in a sensational manner as they are currently on top of the
group with nine points following three consecutive wins.
However, their coach, Pellegrini is insisting that his team is going to Milan for the win. He believes if his team sets out for a draw then it is equivalent to losing. Therefore, he is urging his players to go for the kill.
“If a team comes out to draw, they have lost,” Pellegrini declared to journalists in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926. “Of that I have no doubt. In addition, this team was not made to speculate. We will go out to try and win the three points and qualify.”
The Chilean coach also commented on Milan’s recent form and their 5-1 trashing victory over Chievo last Saturday. He said the Rossoneri’s were the deserving victors and adding that it is difficult to assess their progress at the
moment.
“I saw the match. They played a great game and were worthy winners. I've always said they would be the team to beat.”
The former Villa Real coach has also spoken on Malaga’s first home defeat of the season. He admitted their performance was to blame and that everyone was upset.
“The team is upset by the defeat to Rayo Vallecano, because the performance was not adequate.”
Moreover, the 59-year-old also talked about the Italian giant’s history and whether that fact will influence the outcome of the match.
He admitted that Malaga have less edge on the history department but that history is not going to decide who comes on top tonight.
“Malaga have less history, but the history isn't playing.”
Finally, Pellegrini praised the two youngsters who have impressed everybody so far and believes they have a bright future ahead of them.
“El Shaarawy and Isco are great players.” he concluded.
A win for Malaga tonight will ensure their qualification to the second round.
