Malaga coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-c23383 Pellegrini, is happy with his team’s 4-3 away win over the Segunda B club, Cacereno, in the Copa del Rey.
Cacereno became the first team in this season to put three goals past a much-tighter Malaga. However, Pellegrini was happy and is confident that his team will qualify for the next round.
He praised the performance of his players but also admitted the condition of the pitch was not ideal.
“We played a good game in which there was a lot of friction on a difficult pitch, which was very heavy and muddy.”
He also admitted that his players took their feet off the gas and as a result of that, they allowed the hosts to come back into the game.
However, the Chilean played down the fact that his team conceded three goals in this particular match while they only conceded five in La Liga and none in the Champions League.
He conceded that it is import to not let the ball touch your net, but scoring away from home and winning the match was more crucial and outweighs everything else.
“It’s always important not to concede but the main thing is to win and the other thing is to score goals away from home.”
Moreover, the 59-year-old also denied suggestions that he substituted Jurado because he could not stop the attacks of Chapi.
“He had flu,” was Pellegrini’s short answer.
Meanwhile, the coach of Cacereno, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Julio-c19950 Cobos, has praised the attitude and performance of his players. He also insists on the belief that it is not over till it is over.
“I have to commend the attitude of my team because we didn’t leave our souls out there on the pitch. It is not over yet.”
He was also happy with the fact that his team have managed to score three goals against a Primera outfit.
“Malaga are a very good side but we’ve worked hard this season and were rewarded with three goals against a Primera outfit,” commented Cobos.
Next match in Primera Division, Malaga will be hosting Rayo Vallecano at La Rosaleda on Saturday.
