The Chilean tactician was humbled by his Catalan counterpart as Malaga went down at the Camp Nou, losing their La Liga fixture with a 4-1 score-line.

The former Villarreal coach was equally appreciative of Pep Guardiola’s work at the Camp Nou. With the 41-year-old coach stepping aside from his responsibilities with Barcelona at the end of the season, Pellegrini claimed that he has done an impressive service
to the beautiful game.
He opined that Guardiola’s title success has been immense but it is his footballing philosophy that separates him from the herd of aspiring managers.
"Guardiola's contribution to football has been immense, not only for the titles he has won, but for the game he has implemented and the quality he has shown as a person," the experienced tactician said.
When asked to reflect on his decision to leave at the end of the season, Pellegrini remarked that Guardiola has chosen the path that is best for him.

"Pep has made the best decision for him, but I think he will only take a short break. Certainly, people will be hoping that he only takes a little time off as the game needs him."
