Valencia coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mauricio-c24899 Pellegrino, is hoping last night’s 3-2 win over Athletic Bilbao will become a defining moment for his club since they have been struggling lately.
Things have not been going smoothly for Los Che this season. Their season was marred by poor performances and individual mistakes on the pitch. That is why the Argentine coach, Pellegrino, felt last night’s match at Mestalla was the game that might give
his side the break and the confidence they need in order to keep their heads high and move forward.
Valencia fell behind early in the match after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aritz-Aduriz-c6516 gave the visiting side, Bilbao, the lead within 19 minutes.
Soon the match came into balance as Soldado equalized for Valencia after just seven minutes through a penalty kick.
The home side were again chasing the game as Aduriz recorded his second goal of the match for Bilbao. The first-half ended with Bilbao leading the game by 2-1.
Valencia came back in the second half with a good performance as they pushed forward and put more pressure on Bilbao. Their pressure paid off on the 67th minute of the game as the visiting side were reduced to ten men after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ander-Herrera-c5543 was sent
off.
Los Che took advantage of the sending off as they started dominating the game and created chance after chance. Then it was two late goals from Tino http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 the breakthrough as they won the game by 3-2.
Pellegrino is now hoping his side’s win against Bilbao will be the beginning of better things to come.
“Hopefully this win will prove to be a turning point in our season. I hope the team continue with the attitude they showed today,” he said right after the match finished.
He also talked about the struggle of the game and how his team was chasing the game much of the time.
“It is good to know that the team were struggling, but remained calm and came back to flip the result,” he added.
Finally, the Argentine coach also believes his team deserved to win the match.
“I think ultimately, we deserved to win the game.”
Next match in La Liga, Valencia will visit Real Betis on Saturday, October 27.
