Despite winning the game on the dying minute, Pellegrino believes his side had the upper hand in the game as they created more chances than their opponents and a result of that thinks, Los Che were the worthy winners of the night.
“Overall I think we deserved to win. We had more opportunities and were the better side.”
The Argentine boss was also happy with how his players played and showed more resilience when they were under pressure.
“I am pleased with the team – the way they never gave up in an extreme situation.”

“Praise has to go to Espanyol though. They were quality at times and created good opportunities.”

“Everyone makes mistakes. “Even referees. But I think we need to be treated with some respect.”
The 40-year-old said that it was just not their night and believes his side was hard done by things which were out of their control
“The game has gone, the points will not come back, but things have happened tonight that are beyond our control.”
