  1. A pelleted diet is the best diet you can feed any bird.  Lots of birds refuse to eat fruits and veggies..  Put the veggies on a skewer and hang it in the cage, sometime presentation is the thing that works the best.  Never put the fruit and veggies in the same dish as the pellets, always have a separate dish for them.  I don't think your birds become sick from not eating veggies.  If you are having some kind of health issue, they need to see a vet.  Birds can seem to be fine one minute and dead the next if they are ill.  Birds also hide their health problems very well.  Best to take them to the vet.

  2. Your birds are seed eaters!!!!

I have never advocated Pellets, there have been so many birds lost through eating Pellets get them on-to a good Budgie seed Mix.

Make sure they have Cuttlebone and a Mineral block.

Give them a small amount of Greens such as Broccoli ,Kale.,Spinach,

if you can get Dandelion leaves or seeding heads before they burst these will all do them good.never give them Lettuce.

If you can buy or borrow a book on Budgie keeping it will be worth your while.

  3. To get my Quaker to eat her fruit and veggies I eat it first and then offer the  fruit or veggies to her. That usually works.
