Pelvic Exam Appointment?

I dont have a regular family doctor, in fact its been years since I've been to a doctor. But I'm getting married soon and want to go on the pill so I have to now, but i dont know how to make the appointment. Do I just call the hospital and see who in gynecology is available? Or do I have to call the doctor himself to make the appointment. Please help, very new to this! Thanks!

Ask around who a good dr. is. Like friends and family.  I would get one dr. and stick with him or her. That way all your history is in one place.  Just call in and say you want to make an appt. for a pap smear.  It's weird to you but they hear it all the time. Cograts on your marriage!

What is your insurance like?  usually they give you choices if its a Paid Provider.. or if you got a health carrier.. like Kaiser, Sutter, Health Net they have designated doctors that you can talk to, its hard to know if we don't know your insurance coverage.
