  1. You can drive on a provisional license only under the provisions listed.  Any other driving will get your provisional license suspended and your driving priviledge will suffer.

  2. Since you mention that your test is scheduled ... can I assume that you have a permit?

If that's the case ... and the licensed driver meets all of the requirements for supervising you (age, etc.)  There isn't a problem that I can see.

You don't mention what state you are in, but in NY State you most certainly can get insurance, valid registration, etc on a vehicle without a license ... my brother in law did it!  (It was more expensive without a license, but possible!)

Other than making sure that your supervising driver is legally qualified to do so ... there should be no problems.

  3. Heres the deal.

If you are driving illegally you are not insured.

Your insurance company will not cover you.

Insurance companies look for any reason to reject a claim and that is a big one.

  4. You aren't insured at all.

Your insurance is based on you being licensed to drive.....since you aren't your insurance is invalid.

  5. The law on this varies from state to state.

We need to know which state you are in.

Generally most states require that the licensed driver who accompanies you must be an experienced and over a certain age.

Another driver who just passed the driving test probably will not meet the requirements of your state.

I recommend that you do not do it. All you will accomplish is to make certain that you do not get your license this August.

  6. No, you're not insured. You can't insure an unlicensed driver.

You're guilty of ficticious registration, no license, no insurance.

You'll probably NOT get a license in August.

  7. When you are driving with only a permit, you are under rules to be driving. Should you violate these rules, you are driving illegally. This will also affect being covered by the insurance. Whether you agree or not, you were not covered by your insurance when you were driving. Your court penalties will be the same as any other unlicensed driver and you may lose the privilege to drive for a period of time.
