Question:

Penalty corners in hockey?

I've always thought the first hit or attacking strike into the goal must hit the backboard, but I've been watching the hockey in Beijing and a lot of the times someone dragflicks it into the net, not hitting the backboard and it was a goal, is this just drag flicking or change of rules or what?

  1. we would be glad to help if you would speak in coherent sentences

  2. hiya :-)

the two answers before me obviously don't play hockey, coz i do and i understand everything you said! :-)

i have played hockey for 20 years and i am pretty sure that the first score of the game does have to hit the backboard of the goals to be counted... any other ball for the rest of the game can land in the goals wherever. and in a short corner it doesn't matter where the ball ends up, if it's over the line it's a goal.

haven't seen many games in beijing though... shame about the hockeyroos though!
