Penalty if cough sending guns by USPS?

My cousin stupidly send hes gun with the rest of hes stuff by USPS when he was moving out of state. He was arrested when he when to he post office to pick he's stuff.

Does anyone knows whats the penalty for those charges?

  1. The are federal charges, and that is never good. He needs an attorney that specializes in federal law.


  2. As trooper said... he is now in federal charge land. The USPS, FBI, DHS and all others could go after him. It is not like a DWI. It is a bigtime thing to the point where the penalties would boggle your mind.

    It depends on who is charging him. A normal clean cut citizen with no record of any sort (with a lawyer) might get a pass. A judge is still going to look at him and ask what the h**l he was thinking.

    Over state lines weapon charges are super big time. You and your family need to hire a great lawyer, not Larry down the street who does whatever.
