Pencil case using old jeans..?

Using old jeans how can I make a pencil case?

I have tried looking it up but I haven`t found anything helpful.

Any suggestions?

    The author says to make them, but doesn't say how.

    I would take the lower leg portion, and sew up the bottom 2/3, and fold the top down.  Attach velcro.  I just made a clutch purse/cosmetic bag this way, and lined it too.  Very easy.
