Pencil or liquid eyeiner?

do you prefer pencil eyeliner or liquid eyeliner? and please explain why? if you want best answer include a certain type of eyeliner you like.

Pencil for sure. Looks more natural and it is easier to apply in my opinion. Less likely to run during the day too. I like to put make up on in the morning and have it stay the rest of the day and it works perfectly for that. I use Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner/Crayon. Works like it should and I don't have to sharpen it.

Liquid liner, hands down. The line you get is a lot bolder and more dramatic, but if you're careful and you line thinly you can still use it for daytime. Pencils seem to smudge and go on thicker than I generally prefer. My favorite liquid liner is MAC Liquid Eye Liner in Boot Black. Can't beat it.

It depends what part of your eye you're using it on. If you're using it on top of your lid, liquid eyeliner would be best because it's more precise unlike pencil.

If you're using it underneath, pencil would be best because sometimes it tends to last longer than liquid.

i use both. sometimes in order to avoid smudging, i put liquid on and then the pencil on over it to give it the matte look.

Well it really depends on t he look your going for liquid is more of a harsher look, and the pencil is more of a softer look. I think liquid liner stays on longer than pencil.  A beauty secret I use sometimes  when I run out of eyeliner, you take your mascara, and when you take it out of the tube it has extra gunky mascara on the end, you take the brush and rub it on the line if where you apply your liner and it will look VERY messy at first but then, once you have applied it to all along the line of your eye, you take a dampened q-tip and you wipe the the mascara into a straight line on the top and the bottom of your eye, I do that all the time! It works great once you get the hang of it!

I like pencil eyeliner because you can do the rim of your eyes with it and it is less messy.

I like to use the cream eyeliner though cause I bought a cool brush for it and it looks great and the brand I have is really bold and I like it

Liquid is best for darker and more dramatic results. Lancome makes the best I've ever used. I only line the top of my eye, not the bottom. You can also wing the ends to look flirtier and vary the thickness of the line depending on whether you're at school, work, or out with friends.

I use pencil when I want a more natural look and you can't beat NYC's pencil liners, which sell for around a buck. They don't dry out, pull, or smear. I use the black one, but depending on your skin tone, brown might look more natural...like you're not even trying to look good ;)

You may not need more makeup than a lined eye and some lipgloss.

I personally like pencil. I think it stays put longer. I use Urban Decay Eyeliner. You can find it at Ulta. Urban Decay has very nice colors. They are very vivid colors, but still you can use them for a daytime - everyday look.

I don't like liquid eyeliner because a girl was putting it on in the locker room last year and it bled into her eye. It just seems a little more - dangerous. Like if you don't put it on right, it'll get into your eye and the girl that it happened to was crying for two periods.

Another to try is called H.I.P. It doesn't come in a liquid or pencil, it's like a creme type substance, the colors are the BEST I've ever seen and you apply it with a brush because it comes in a little glass jar. That's another to try if you want a bold color.

Personally, I choose neither.  I like using cream eyeliner like H.I.P. color truth cream eyeliner.  You can use it on the top and bottom of your eyes plus it doesnt smudge as much as most pencil eyeliners do.  I like to make a thin line on my lashline and the brush allows me to get around my eyelashes easier than a pencil or a liquid brush would.

Liquid eyeliners were very popular in the 60's and 70's, but pencil seems to be the go now.  Pencils are certainly easier to use, and come in many more colours.Avon makes a nice soft, pencil, but i also like Amway, which has a rubber "smudger" at the end, and a brand called "Princess" which only comes in black and is hard to find.

Pencil, it's simpler. I recommend Styli-Style Line & Seal Waterproof. It lasts all day even through rain. I wear it to the pool or beach with waterproof mascara.

The number one reason i don't like liquid is because it burns like a b*tch if it gets in your eye.

But if your going to get a liquid, try Revlon Colorstay liquid eye liner. It dries fast really fast.

I prefer liquid too line the top of my eyelid.

i use both. Liquid on the top, (becuz its easier to make a straight line.) and pencil on the bottom becuz liquid doesnt work as good as pencil on the inside bottom of your eye. the brands i uses that work great are Prestige black pencil eyeliner, and maybelline waterproff liquid eyeliner, u can get these both at cvs, there pretty cheap

My favorite eyeliner is the MAC Fluidline.

It's technically a liquid liner but it's in a pot and you use an eyeliner brush to apply it.

It stays on FOREVER yet it's easy to get off if you want it to come off.

It doesn't smudge at all which i find usually happens when i use pencil liners.

The one thing i suggest though is definately a pencil liner in your waterline.

well it all depends even though both are used for lining your eyes they really are too different products. Pencil is for thicker look and you shouldn't use it on both eyelids my favorite type of eye pencil is clinique because it goes on rich and smooth. but liner gives your eyes a glossy look, and it's thin enough to use on both eyelids i like almay eyeliner because it comes in colors that match your eye color.. I use both products but i prefer pencil because you don't have to wait for the product to dry.
