Pendulum question!!?

If a pendulum is made to swing in water, compare the time taken for this pendulum to come to a complete stop with the time taken by a pendulum swinging in air. explain the difference?

I want a clear and deep explanation to compare the 2..

  1. When the pendulum is swinging in air the forces acting on it are

    1. Force of gravity (acting downwards)

    2. Resistance to travel in air ( alacting along path of motion

    TheKinetic energy is converted to Potential energy during course of motion. KE> Max at lowest point    PE> MAx at higest point.

    Now whn in water the only diffrence is due to the frriction / resistance of water to motion of Pendulum.

    The time taken will (friction due to water) times (friction in air)


  2. Force of buoyancy and friction due to water causes measured period in water to increase in water
