i heard that using a pendulum can help you figure out things such as how to find something you misplaced... they say it is your subconscious remembering things that conscious thoughts cannot. if this is true can you use a pendulum to ask about things that happened when you were very little like 6 or 7? how reliable is the answer? If no one else, like a parent, can ( or will) tell you if the answer is right or wrong than how can you truly know that a pendulum has given a correct answer?

  1. The pendulum trick works by way of the ideomotor effect.  The classic one is putting a ring on a string, and holding it over the pregnant womans belly to see if its a boy or girl (back and forth vs circular)

You can really only ask "yes or no" type questions...similar to flipping a coin.  The pendulum may respond to your unconcious wishes, and micromovements  in your hand can subtly make the pendulum swing one way or another.  The effect is magnified the longer the pendulum is, and can be quite dramatic.  The ideomotor effect is also behind things like ouija boards, and dowsing for water.

  2. Run it through a trial and see if it passes 99 percentile on a statistical chance measuring against chance.

  3. Yes, it is true.  Another name for it is self-hypnosis.  I don't know if the method will always give the correct answer.

  4. There is no scientific evidence to support the theory.

Some techniques such as hypnosis are known to create fake memories so be careful what you try.

Try some of these things that might help you recall events etc:

    Reviewing photographs.

Listening to music of that time. Music is a great way to activate memories. Songs from childhood and teen years often produce a flood of memories.

Cook something you enjoyed in childhood. Smells often jolt our memories. I once entered a restroom and immediately began thinking about a childhood camp I attended. They had changed the soap in the restroom — the same type of industrial-grade soap we had at the camp. It prompted me to write Emotional Memory, an article on the subject.

    Revisit childhood locations.

Look at yearbooks. Most people make more memories in high school than any other time…because everything is significant.

  5. Interesting article about false memories here.

  6. Well ask it "show me yes" and it should go eather horizontal or vertical .

    then "show me no"

    do this a couple times.

    until you've established what's what.

then ask obvious questions only at first "ei. "Is my shirt yellow"

some say it's your subconscious , other's say it's your spirit guide.

    try it.

it has ALWAYS worked for me & will always be my fav. tool of divination
