Peng Wu pockets Men’s 200m butterfly title in Michigan: 2011 Pro Dual Meet
Peng Wu of East outperformed his challengers during the opening session of the 2011 Pro Dual Meet in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Wednesday, November 16. Wu earned Men’s 200m butterfly title.
Peng Wu, an experienced athlete of East swimming club kicked off the final race in breathtaking fashion when he produced attention grabbing turns on both sides of the swimming pool against his opponents to clinch the Men’s 200m butterfly crown by thumping
the finishing blockade in a scintillating blot of 1 minute and 59.62 seconds.
Peng grabbed one silver and two bronze medals in the respective race at the 2005, 2007 and 2011 World Championship editions, in Melbourne, Montreal and Shanghai, respectively.
On the other hand, Peng Wu’s opponent, Charles Houchin of West produced a mouth shattering turn in the puddle and touched the finishing divider in a stunning time of 2 minutes and 02.47 seconds to pocket silver medal for his team. More importantly, Houchin
claimed two gold medals in 400m 4x200m freestyle races at the 2011 Pan American Games, in Guadalajara.
In addition, the bronze title was snatched by East’s Fred Castro in a winning blot of 2 minutes and 02.75 seconds. Moreover, Davis Tarwater of West gave his best effort throughout the splash and claimed fourth spot by clicking the finishing divider in a
time of 2 minutes and 06.75 seconds. Last, but not the least, the fifth place honour was taken over by West’s athlete, Adam DeJong in an impressive mark of 2 minutes and 08.85 seconds.
Earlier in the day, the Men’s 200m Individual Medley title was clinched by West’s young athlete, Darian Townsend in a winning time of 2 minutes and 01.29 seconds. Meanwhile, Peng Wu of East earned silver medal in a spot of 2 minutes and 02.11 seconds and
Nick Brunelli of East settled at third place in 2 minutes and 08.46 seconds, respectively.
The 2011 Pro Dual Meet is offering a fascinating opportunity to all young guns of United States to prepare well for their futuristic meets.
