Pennridge Rams boys volleyball team move on to finals after beating Christopher Dock 3-0 : Volleyball
The Pennridge Rams boys volleyball team was able to earn itself a victory by handing out a 3-0 defeat to Christopher Dock on Tuesday. The teams met each other in the semi-final match of the District One boys volleyball championship.
The results gave a much needed boast to the winning team, whereas Christopher Dock left the courts with their confidence a bit shaky. This was because the Rams were able to secure the victory after winning three back to back sets. The first two sets of the
match were easy jobs for the Rams. The only competition that Dock was able to churn up was in the third set of the game. Losing in a clean sweep so far out into the tournament was probably not the way Dock wanted to make their exit.
The official score for the match was 25-18, 25-17 and 31-29 in favor of the Rams. Coach Dave Childs of the Rams expressed his feelings about his team and said, "It's a credit to the guys," he said. "They all work hard in the offseason. Everyone on this court
played club volleyball."
The Rams are ranked as the Number One team and their performance statistics shows a record to prove just that. The Rams have earned themselves 19 victories in this season so far. The squad is heading towards the final of the championship with the determination
to keep this winning streak untarnished.
Dock also boasts of a record that is exceptional to say the least and they were ranked fifth in their group. Dock has tallied a win total of 14 with three losses to their name.
The first set of the game started off with the Rams coming out strong. For the most part of the game, Dock stayed under pressure and kept trailing the Rams. It came as no surprise when the Rams were finally able to finish the first set of the game at 25-18.
Brimming with confidence after winning the opening set of the game by a comfortable margin, the Rams took the lead early on in the second set at 6-0. They were able to extend their advantage up to 17-5 before Dock could close in the gap. However, the set
ended on the Rams terms at 25-17.
The third set was the most intense but the effort came in too late from Dock. The Rams secured themselves in what became the final set of the game at 31-29.
