I am greatly considering going to online school. I want to go with the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School [www.pacyber.org] It seems the best to me. Does anyone have any experience with online schooling or any online schooling in PA? Does it really matter which school you choose? I mean I know they have to be accredited if you attend to go to college. This one is and I like this one because you can get college credits while working for your high school dipolma.

  1. My son graduated here in Ohio at OHDELA and now attends a private university with scholarships. The PA one for them is http://www.pdela.com However we decided to send my youngest son to OHVA ..the one in PA is http://www.pavcs.org The curriculum is k-12 and it is great. I believe most online charter schools are accredited

  2. It says that they are accredited with the PA public school system, which would allow you to transfer back into public school if you choose to do so in the future.  That's really what accreditation is for; colleges do not require it.  Pretty much any college in the US will accept homeschool transcripts signed by your mom, along with your test scores (SAT/ACT/AP/CLEP).

If you're a resident of PA, you're eligible to attend here...it looks like a really good school.  Hope that helps!

  3. My daughter uses PA Leadership Charter School.. We love it.. Next year, her 2 younger brothers are signing up too! When we signed up my daughter she went to public school for 3 weeks and switched to PALCS.

  4. I go to this school!

I love it and have gone about 3 years and have loved it.  I would do Virtual Classes too, they are almost always enjoyable, it of course depends on the teacher but I have only had a couple teachers I like.  I do the harder subjects like Algebra, Science, and Spanish in VC and do things such as English (my easy subject) on my own.  Also, I am doing 2 years in one so that I can graduate early and I am going to go to a local community college to take courses there so I can get college and highschool credits!

Love the school, it has been wonderful for me.  Everything is free and I highly suggest it.  Another one that I have heard is very good in the Pennsylvania area is PALCS

    PS.

I think you will have to enroll in the 2nd quarter and you won't be able to enroll in VC classes this year because they have already started.  But you will be able to next year and if you are old enough and have good enough grades you can start college courses too I'm pretty sure that depends on the college!
