I have a PA drivers permit and i'm going to be going on a day trip down to maryland. Does having a permit from pennsylvania allow me to drive in other states as well?

Having a Pennsylvania driver Permit does not mean that the other states will accept the same permit for driving in their state. Currently only six states named: New Hampshire, Arizona, Hawaii, Vermont, South Carolina and the District of Columbia ban permit drivers to move from one state to another states. But several others will not recognize any driver including those holding a drivers license under 16. So if you are planning on driving on a family road trip, take the time to educate yourself on the rules of other states. For more information you can call or contact the DMV in the states you will be visiting.
