Pennsylvania Unemployment question.

A bit of a story, but I would appreciate any help. I tired calling Unemployment several times today, and the phone was busy. I was laid off in March, and collected unemplyoment for 6 weeks, untill I found a job. It was the first one I was offered, I took it infear that I would not find another soon enough. Now, after working a few months, I can not stand my new job. My boss is one who is impossible to please and it is not working out. It was like this from the second week, but I kept hoping it would improve. I am her only employee, so I have no interaction with anyone elese during the day, making it worse. I am now realizing why the 2 people before me were only there for a short time. I am a pretty easy going person, my last job I stayed 4 years, with the ups and downs, untill the housing market ended up forcing my entire department to be laid off. My Question is... if I were to quit, in search of a new job, could I collect again? I did not use up my 6 months before. I have been applying for other jobs, but my new boss will not allow the time for me to interview. (I even told her I had a doctor appointment, but she said Oh well, I have to work, even if I took unpaid time) and I will not even have a sick or vacation day here untill January. A frined of mine mentioned that my last employer could still have to pay the unemployment if I filed, since I would not be in this situation if I were not laid off.

  1. No, if you quit you won't be eligible.  If your second employer laid you off but you hadn't worked there long enough to collect on their account, your claim would revert to your previous employer's account - that's probably what your friend is thinking of.

If everyone who had a boss they couldn't stand could just quit and collect unemployment, the system would probably go broke in a hurry!
