About how much do you think it would cost for 1 adult to go Italy (Rome) for a week? Including taxes and fees.

Thanks.

  1. Obviously it depends. The flight will cost about $1,900 I guess, $2,400 with airport taxes. Anyway, it depends on the company you choose to fly with and on the period you choose to come to Rome. Abou the amount of money you are going to spend when in Rome, if you are planning to stay in a big hotel next to the Colosseum, to go to eat to the most expensive restaurants and to hire a private car with a driver for the whole time, it will cost at least $15,000. If you are planning to stay in a modest hotel, not too far from the city but well connected, to go to simple restaurants or fast foods and to use public transportation (that is quite functional here in Rome) rather than taxis or so, probably you will have to spend about $1,500, including taxes I suppose $2,000. However, I cannot be sure but remember that the cost of life here varies depending on the area in which you are planning to stay in a quite impressive way. The centre of Rome is VERY expensive, so I wouldn' t eat there if I were you, but as soon as you get just about 1 km away from the pricy area, you can find way more affordable prices. I hope I helped you, bye.

  2. Hello,

You can get flights from 800 dollars on up.  Don't book through a site like orbitz but go directly through the airlines themselves for the best prices and least amount of fees.  Hotels for a week will run anywhere from 25 euros a night for a hostel to hundreds of dollars for a hotel depending on the area and how nice the hotel is.  Transportation from the airport is 11 euros if you take the Leonardo Express train to the termini station.  If you get a cheap hotel in this area of town you will be able to walk to it.  You can get hotels in this area for less than 125 euros a night.  Food can cost as little as 30 euros a day if you eat a pizza places or cafes.  Entrance fees are generally less than 12 euros for most sites and a  lot of the sites in Rome are free.  If you buy the romapass you can get into 2 sites for free, get a 50% discount to all other sites and get a 3 day transportation pass for free.  You can take this trip for less than 5000 dollars if you budget wisely.  Check out the airline sites for ticket prices, romapass.it for the discounted tickets and  venere.com for hotels.

    Good luck, Donna
