Pension,benefits,in Luxor Egypt.?

Question

Is there any benefits,pension etc for british people in Luxor?If a person came to live there,were too old to work,with little money,would they get any help for rent for flat,food etc,or is there no help at all?I hear many go to live there,but what happens when you have no money to live on?Can benefit say pension still be had from UK if person wanted to move there?I am sure I heard people still draw their benefits from UK and live over in Egypt,is this true?Just wondered how I would live if no means of finance if I wanted to move to Luxor in the future.Thanks.

If you are entitled to a British pension, it would still be sent to your bank every month - whether you bank is UK or Egypt. You would not get any financial help from the Egyptian authorities, there is no pension or benefits there. So you would only have your pension to live on, unless you got a job.

British people live in many countries abroad, and retire, so their pensions are sent to many countries in the world.

a pension from the UK is legal as long as you are

comfortable it would be sent regularly .

the Egyptian authorities allow any cash transfer from abroad .

make your arrangements to stay in Luxor as long as you wish.

this would also entail a permanent visa in Egypt.
