Pentium D to Core 2 duo?

Is a core two Duo running at 2GHZ faster than a pentium D unning at 2.80GHZ?

ABSOLUTLY. it uses 2 execution cores so you get much smoother performance over single-core pentium processors. and quad cores are even better than both.

No it can run two cpu hogging process at the same time like anti virus and de-fragmentation, useful for multi taskers.
