  1. just get a new 1 that can help

  2. I am sorry that you lost your beloved hamster.

Would you be ready to get another one and care for it the same way you did with your previous one?

    It might help

  3. I feel much of your pain, my first hamster died a week after I got her, and trust me I know it's so tough.  Getting a new hamster will help so much because it's a new start, a new life, a new friend.  Although it too will eventually die you can always start again.  I have lost three hamsters and about a month later I am rejoicing about my new found furry friend!!

Hope this helps, and if you have any I would love to see pictures!! :-)

  4. There is no reason to get it out of your head.  If you care for something or someone and they die you should not try to erase the memory.  Enjoy the memory but just remember that we all have a time to die.

I say get another hamster NOT TO REPLACE YOUR FRIEND but simply so that you can give a new pet a good home.

The good thing about having a pet die is that it begins to prepare you for when people in your life die.  It allows you to experience grief and understand how to get on with life.

  5. that happened to me many times and i got a new one. though i could never forget my other hamsters. and sorry for your loss.

  6. when animals are in our lives that long they become like family I still think my hamster Fiesty (we had her for 4 years she died in 1998) and my rat Two-Tone (we had him 2 years he died in 2000) getting a new pet can help (it helped me because I had something else that needed me) but you'll never forget nor should you...just when you remember try to remember good happy times you had together

  7. I'm really sorry for your loss.  Losing a pet can be really hard.  I have had many hamster families over the past four years and it's not easy losing any of them.  It's okay to be sad and cry about it.  You  miss him.  He was a great little friend.  I know how you feel.

Still, being really upset for a very long time isn't going to help you any or bring him back.  You should remember how wonderful and cute he was and it's okay to miss him but you will have to move on in time.

He can never be replaced but it wouldn't hurt to have another hamster at some point when  you are ready.  Hope I wasn't harsh sounding or anything like that!  I know how you feel and for some of my little guys that I had a strong attachment to it took me a while to get over them.
