People To People Student Ambassador Program Question, Student Delegates Or Delegate Leader Please Help!?

I was invited to go to Japan for 14 days in the summer of '09 with the People To People Student Ambassador Program. I'm in 8th grade, and I would like to know a few things. How much does it cost? I hear about $3,000-$4,000, but I'm not sure. I've heard many different opinions and I'm not sure if I should go or not. My mom is taking me to the local info meeting in September, she's still considering letting me go, but my dad already said no. I would really love to go, but the price and everything are giving me and my mom second thoughts. Is it worth the huge price tag?

Thanks Loads!

  1. The best thing to do is to go to the informational meeting.  My daughter did People to People, and I know that we had to arrange and pay for our own transportation, so this price can vary.  It was a wonderful experience.  We did the Washington DC trip because she was only in 6 th grade and we did not want to travel far.  She learned a lot and met some really interesting kids from all over the country.  I think you should definitely go to the meeting.  I know that they also give you ideas on how to raise money for your trip.
