  1. Yeah.. try to get your 8 years old jump on the vault.  Let alone to do all those tricks.  Enough sour grapes.

  2. lol, isn't the Olympics about being the best?  Why the age restrictions?  Our best gymnasts competed.  Shawn Johnson won the national title.  Why should other countries be denied the chance to get beaten by our best?

Suck it up you whining babies.  We're Americans.  We can take on a bunch of little kids!

  3. I'm not talking towards you Triumph, I'm talking to the people who reads my answer.

Does it really matter? China did it before. Now that China has has some medals, the media decides to bring it up? If U.S killed China in the gymnastics, and the media didn't bring it up, would you have still ask this question? Don't believe everything you see on television. GET A LIFE.

He Kexin is talking about Nestia Liukin.

    Target: Nastia Liukin

While many gymnasts are reluctant to name their rivals, He says she's out to beat American Nastia Liukin on uneven bars. She's even said that she increased the difficulty in her routine after learning of Liukin's 7.7 difficulty score.

He Kexin says, "My target is to beat her at the Olympics," He said to the China Daily. "She is definitely the most dangerous gymnast in the world, but I am confident I can keep her away from the gold medal as long as I can perform at my highest level."

And what do you know? Kexin did beat her in the uneven bars.

“At this competition, the Japanese gymnasts were just as small as the Chinese,” the coach said. “Chinese competitors have for years all been small. It is not just this time. It is a question of race. European and American athletes are all powerful, very robust. But Chinese athletes cannot be like that. They are by nature that small.”

  4. okay you don't watch gymnasts but ill fill you in. It easier if your shorter to do the flips and twist it also causes less pressure on your ankles. Also USA can send in 14 years that would have helped the team

  5. it would really suck getting beaten by a 12 year old but the truth needs to be out there. Plus if they get youger athletes we should too im speaking on behalf of Australia

  6. it is because they have not hit puberty so they have not growing so it is easier for them to do more things than the older gymnast.

  7. lol.  I agree.  If anything, there is a disadvantage to the younger gymnasts.  The only good explanation I've been given for the age rule in gymnastics is to help protect young gymnasts from hurting themselves.

Seems to me, I would complain if someone were cheating due to steroids, but complaining about the ages of another country's gymnasts is just plain embarrassing.

  8. thats because Chinese look much younger than white people....

yeah , i know .. a lot of American teenagers look like 30+ in China :)

  9. Because gymnast are under so much pressure to keep their weight down...they don't properly eat and don't get the nutrition need to sustain physical activitiy...Because of this their bodies develop slower than average teenagers...Check out the following Book:

Little Girls in Pretty Boxes: The Making and Breaking of Elite Gymnasts and Figure Skaters

  10. their doing the hard work like every1 else nd they have 2 also concentrate on school nd their cultures so they r still working  very hard and age doesn't really matter because not all their muscles have developed yet and most of the other countries grown people have developed all their muscles so i would also keep my mouth shut.

  11. LOL, disadvantage to younger gymnasts, what a big fat lie that is.

china lied, used younger gymnasts because younger is better in gymnastics, any moron can see that.  Any gymnasts will tell you this.

Why would they risk it if there weren't' better, only and complete idiot can't see china is a lying cheat of a country.

Defending cheaters and younger gymnasts is an embarrassment to any countries people, glad my country doesn't defend cheaters.

  12. I'd be angry if I found out the other team was cheating / lying / misrepresenting themselves.  How can it be fair if they play by their own rules?

  13. Its because the younger you are, the better you are. Its unfair because Nastia could have qualified when she was 14, but she had to wait it out just like every other gymnast. However, the controversy is about the Chinese sneaking in underage atheletes which is really unfair.

  14. You know nothing about gymnastics do you?14 year old girls don't have the body mass ofa 16 year old. so yeah they one. way to go china. churn out those babies and c**p products.

  15. A younger, smaller gymnast is more limber and weighs less. Rules are rules, the age 16 rule is in place for a reason. It doesn't matter if someone is shooting up steroids or using athletes that aren't of age, either way one country/person is getting an unfair advantage that everyone else isn't getting. That is why it's a big deal. IF China's gymnasts are all of age, good for them and congrats on the gold, if they aren't they deserve to be stripped of the medal.

  16. they can throw kids in there too if them countries dont like it, and ur right bout the *** kiking

  17. People who claimed China using underage girls (unproven other than speculations) have an big advantage is completely wrong. With so many different skills involved Gymnastics, there are just as many routines that require more strength then finesse. And during tonights show, they interviewed gymnastic trainers and I agree with what they said.... Get raid of the age limit! If you are good enough, you should be able to compete.
