I know I already asked this question.

What should I do? I'm 13 and I have first aid and cpr, and I also love kids and they know that but no one is calling me help! Advice from babysitters and parents please.

I have babysat two different two month olds and I have tons of references who say I'm very responsible for my age.I have also babysat toddlers.

I have also been a mothers helper to babys but I call the babies moms to see if they want help so they can take a shower or relax but they never call back!!!:(

  1. You should put up flyers in places that parents and families frequent. Schools, YMCAs, health clubs, the video store, family-friendly cafes, pediatricians, make sure they are places where the people seem safe and normal, you don't want creeps calling you up.

Ask your references if you can put their phone number down on the flyer and make sure that you emphasize the First Aid and CPR. Tell how long you have been babysitting, specify rates or flexibility, your best hours, and make it look professional!!!!! You may also want to add in the ages of kids that you are willing to take and the available hours you can work. Don't make it hand written or have too many decorations on it. You want to put it across that you are a young lady with experience, not just a kid looking for extra cash. Good luck! You sound like a very qualified person for the job.

Don't forget to add in those little papers with your phone and your reference's numbers!

  2. People are going out less with the high price of everything and paying someone so a woman can take a shower is not something most woman would do.

  3. Put up some fliers around stating your qualifications and your age.  Put some tear-offs at the bottom of the flier with your phone number on it.  The reason you probably don't get many calls is because you're 13.  I babysat when I was 13 and was very responsible... but now that I'm having a baby, I can't imagine leaving my child alone with a 13 year old.  Good luck!

  4. It sounds like you need some new contacts .  Print up some fliers and distribute them all over.  Put some up on the notice board in the supermarket and the library and in children's stores.  That should drum up some interest.  I would hire you.

  5. As the mother of a 7 month old, I would never hire a 13 year old, especially if I don't know you very well personally.

What would you do if the baby needed to be taken to the hospital immediately?

    Call an ambulance you say?

It takes too much time for an ambulance to arrive in many cases and I want someone with a car so they can haul @ss if the time ever comes that it is necessary.

  6. i would hire a 13 or 14 year old over an older kid any day. they pay more attention to the kids and are able to get down to the childs level.

i had nothing but problems with a 16 year old sitter-constantly finding her laying ont he couch with her boyfrriend, charging up my phone bill on the phone with her friends, and constantly wanting to leave with my kids becuase she could drive-in my eyes, 16 &17 year olds are not resoponsible enough or expirienced behind the wheel with my babies. older than this, they are to worried about bills, or partying or boyfriends.

check out different places to put fliers and ask your references if you can list their number, or give it out. list everything you said above about cpr and first aid, and the ages you have had expirience with. you might not be getting the word out enough

  7. Perhaps you can write up a little ad about yourself and your qualifications and post it around your town.  I'm thinking of the bulletin boards at supermarkets, drugstores, the Y, and maybe your church or temple.  You can also include that "references are available on request".  That should really help with your response.  You might want to make little "cutouts" with your name & phone number/e-mail, so prospective clients can easily tear offf one to take with them.  You could have a bold heading to catch the eye of the busy shopper.  Another place you may want to post your ad is the laudromat.  Most laudromats in my area have huge bulletin boards just loaded with postings.  Make your stand out!  Good luck to you & I hope this helps.
