I am a Young Adult and I have a child's voice. Whenever I talk to a company or an official or if I am talking on the phone with anyone then they either call me "Mam" or ask what my age is. Can You Provide a Solution.

  1. Introduce yourself before hand like "Hello this is Mr. Man speaking...what is this call concerning etc etc etc..."

Have a great day & good luck!

  2. talk lower

  3. be frank with them, tell them with a stern and serious vioce how old you are and ask them if thats a problem to them and why they asked

  4. Yeah that sucks.  I have a similar problem with my long hair: people either get the wrong idea from it or only see me from behind and assume I'm a girl...  Just laugh it off and inform them of your actual gender :) and forget about it, don't let it bother you.  Just because people don't think you sound (or look) like a man doesn't make you any less of one.

Also, your voice may yet deepen/mature; I have a cousin who's just coming into a deeper voice at 17.

  5. Mutilate your genitalia to look like a v****a.

  6. Be up front with people.  Say, hello this is (your name) to identify you are male and then allow them to ask you an awkward question about your age, because it may never come up because of the way you articulate, which may sound more mature despite the voice.  So, be specific with people.

If they do ask you your age, just be polite and say, "My age does not match my voice, so I'm a grown young man, and it can be a bit awkward for me on the phone."

Then, allow them to come around and treat you kindly.  As honey attracts honey bees, so don't be on the defensive about it.

I have a friend who grew up with a high effeminate sounding voice all of his life, yet his appearance was that of a slender and good looking man.

Just be effortless in your communication and allow your uniqueness to break the ice so that people feel comfortable enough to open up to you.  So, your voice is a GIFT, not a burden.

So, the solution is you and how you perceive others reactions of you.  You have to learn to change your perception to a challenge rather than a judgment.

    Have a great day!

Now, I know you didn't say you're going thru any of this, BUT there's some good pointers on these pages that MAY help you out a bit. My friend (35 years old) tried many of these tips for deepening her lil' girl voice. Oh, and she also used to stand & drop her head (and arms) close to her knees and exhale deeply and (without straining) sang/spoke low tones. that helped her alot too.

    best wishes to you!!

  10. become a woman

  11. oh to h**l with  them there is nothing you can do plus you already know why they are asking you  that question, just get smart with them ,get on their nerves.

  12. well the only thing I can tell you is to try to be very professional when you are talking to someone because professionalism shows maturity and even if they still confuse you politely correct them! i dont recommend you trying to change your voice cause that would onll sound silly and gain you less respect! hope that helps

  13. are u a girl??how old r u??if ur still young ur voice will change to deeper as u get older and y would u want them to call u man?

  14. voice enhancer....or funny voice >>on panasonic phones

i sorta have the same probleme lol

  15. Identify yourself as Mr... or give your name...it's a common thing to be misconceived over the phone. I know because I work on the phones and more often than not, people get something wrong....not so much my gender, but more so my name...it just makes me laugh. If I were you, i'd totally play it off and make a joke of it!

    =)

  16. i dont have any sugestions man but that really sucks.
