We looked it up and we think it's from Kenya.

It starts out like

+254

They called 6 times and left 2 messages asking for us to help them.

Do you think it's a scam for us to call back?

  1. Sounds like a scam to me!! Don't call it back

And by the way I live in Texas and our number is not 254 it's 915

    Be careful

  2. North American area code 254 is a state of Texas telephone area code.

Do you converse with the person, or do they just say "i need help" and end the call?

Its not a very funny trick to play on someone. If its becoming a problem, when they call again tell them that you have alerted your phone company and they are going to trace the call.

Might scare them off. If it doesn't then 'do' call your phone company and explain what is happening, they should block the number for you. (thats if its a problem of course, I would of personally called back. Block you calling ID and give them h**l LOL)

  3. I have the same problem here in Australia,

Constantly i have been getting un known numbers outside of Australia that have turned out to be scams.

I would suggest you contact your carrier ( phone company ) and get that number blocked.

Put it this way, if it was a genuine phone call, how did they get your  telephone number ?

Why dont they contact the governement, police, law enforcement in their own country.

Why do the need help from a complete stranger in a different country ??

    Its a scam..

  4. +254 is the country code for Kenya.

Could be a scam. Don't call back.

But, you could report it to the police or your telco.
