Can someone please tell me what kind of place Buffalo is? Are there plenty of rich people? Is it mostly middle class/upper middle class? Lower class/poor people? Is it a nice place to live? Is it exciting with a good nite life? Not to be racist but what kind of people live there(races)? Is it mostly young people teens to 20's or older people and kids? Just explain to me all that you can :-)

  2. I live in Canada, but I go to Buffalo every now and then because I have family who live there. From what I can see, it isn't a very well taken care of city... seems like a boring place to live cause there's not much to do. I know they have downtown, which I've never been to so I don't know what it's like. It seems like it is mostly lower and middle class. I see all sorts of ages...not one of the most in particular. I see a lot of African Americans and Americans mostly...(nothing about saying that is racist). Like I said I don't live there so this is just from observation... :)

  3. i can answer way better than any of the above as i lived there for 9 years ( i got out btw)

--not alot of rich people but there are some---mostly old money, there are some very rich neighborhoods though

--as far as class goes--the city itself is probably closer to lower class/middle class--all depending on what section you're in --its a pretty decent size city

--the night life is exciting, bars are open til 4am, if you're looking for the cool hip area that would be elmwood village--elmwood strip has its own bars/clubs plus its just minutes from downtown; downtown is fun--despit all the knocks buffalo takes the people there do know how to party and have a good time--especially in summer

---races: 40% of the population in buffalo is black, the rest mostly white

--people: it is a big college city (at least 5 or 6 major colleges), so you'll see lots of college kids many of whom come from other countries so expect alot of asians, indians,etc...again though elmwood village is a mix of college kids/frat boys but also alot of 20-30 something professionals

--the best part is that B-lo is dirt cheap to live, you can live like a king/queen for almost nothing and still have all the basics of any huge city

..and when you're bored, toronto is about 1 1/2 hours away--i made many trips up there

  4. Buffalo itself is on the poor side. It's a pretty classic rust belt city -- poverty and unemployment inside the borders (proportionatly), more wealth and prosperity in the summers.

Plenty of rich people? Not New York, but some. Nice place to live? Very livable in many ways. It's easy to get around, some big-time culture and athletics, large university, nice district for the young adults in Chippewa St. district downtown of restaurants and bars.

Obviously, the weather is a drawback for some. We get an average of 90 inches of snow a year, and some don't like that. Most years we don't get more than a few inches at a time, but we have had some big storms over the years. Summers are great -- never too hot. Falls are nice. Spring is cloudy and bleak at times.

And don't forget Lake Erie, a great source of recreation and natural beauty. Plus, Niagara Falls is just up the road.
