Good morning! I'm coming to London for 2 weeks, and I'll stay in a hostel in Ravenscourt Garden. Is that a good area? Is it enough close to the must-see attractions in London? Thank you so much for your help!

  1. Yes ravencourt is as good a place as any in central London, particularly for shopping, monarchy, parks but watch your pennies!

For daily essentials, try to get them while you are out, using UK minimarts for lunch stuff, water etc as snacks around there are exorbitant. Tesco's food store Covent Garden or Trafalgar Square are reasonable so try to stock up here rather than round Ravenscourt!

  2. It's a pretty area and there's a nice park around there. The centre of london is not far away by underground. You'll find plenty of restaurants and nightclubs in Hammersmith, which is very near.

    Have a great time

  3. If you mean Ravenscourt Park, then yes it is ideal. It is three stops on the underground to South Kensington where all the museums are, and one more stop to Knighstbridge, home of department store, Harrods. It is a couple more stops to Hyde Park where you can visit the London parks, Buckingham Palace. If you go in the opposite direction on the underground to Richmond, you have the river, which is a beautiful area, quaint little shops, and Richmond Park. And that's just a few. So the answer is yes, easy to get to almost anywhere.

  4. Hello Ferdy. Ravenscourt will be fine for you to get to all the main attractions in London. It is on the London Underground, so travelling will be OK, although sometimes this section of the Underground is closed at weekends.

As for the area - well it depends what you are used to. Ravenscourt is between Stamford Brook which is nice, and West Kensington which is a dump. I personally wouldn't want to stay there but there are worse places in London.

There is a hostel (YHA) in Canada Water Rotherhithe in London which is much nicer and it is close to the River Thames. http://www.londonnethotels.co.uk/YHA_Lon...
