I'm from Australia and am lucky my kids will eat things like roasted chickpeas, dukkah, olives, etc over biscuits any day. I've run out of ideas for things to make and keep in the cupboard. What do you give you kids in other countries? (Asia, middle east, mediterranean, africa?)

  1. I'm still quite young actually and don't have kids.  But speaking from my own experiences, when I was little, I didn't enjoy eating my traditional Vietnamese and Korean food that much.  I felt bored eating rice and noodles just about every day, even if the main dishes were always different.  But now as an older person, I always crave the food that I grew up on and, at that time, didn't like to eat.  It's the same way with many of my friends too (Asian or not).  I guess when you're young, there's no such thing as too much pizza! Luckily, my parents were understanding enough to put up with my "fussiness" and now we laugh about it.

  2. Mine are from italy, and luckily eat everything as well..fava beans are a favorite of my 5 year old, cherry tomatoes are a great snack..better than sweet snacks any time....we all make together foccacia which freezes well--great for leftovers--as well as pizza....
