  1. Absolutely Not.  Paulie is a tought kid, has a good heart, but Willie Pep was one of a kind, I don't think I've ever heard anyone being compared to him. Malignaggi's big tests are ahead of him, we'll see what happens....

  2. LOL. he'd beat the lips off that guy, and without throwing a single punch too.

  3. No, not even close, it is an insult to Pep's memory to compare the two.  Malignaggi isn't even in the same class as Pep, and the audacity of such a comparison is laughable.

  4. Well, Malignaggio has nicer hair, if you're into that metrosexual kind of thing.  But PM is pretty much a sham artist that got his face fractured against the first tough opponent he fought.  No, PM doesn't have the physical strength to be anything more than what he is now: a protected fighter using flash and style, because there's no substance.  Willie Pep?  Never.

  5. no way paul malignaggi is an average champ nothing special hatton is gunna destroy the bloke

  6. People probably only compare the two because they are both Italian-American. I'm a never-say-never-kinda guy, so from what I've seen so far, I'll just say that its highly unlikely.

  7. Malignaggi is a bum, all he has is a jab and a weak one at that

  8. Malignaggi isn't nearly as good as Pep or any other great defensive fighter - Paulie isn't even that good defensively, he is a good mover with quick hands, he doesn't have the techinque.

I actually like watching the Magic Man fight, I sat next to his mom and sister this summer when he won the title, and I don't think he would be an easy night for any jr. welterweight.

  9. No, and it kind of pissed me off that before his fight with Herman Ngoudjo they showed clips of Pep and Malignaggi and were comparing the two.  Malignaggi is a good fighter, but Pep is the best featherweight of all time and had over 300 professional fights- as far as I'm concerned there is no comparison and there never will be a comparison.  And I'm sure Pep would not have struggled to beat someone like Herman Ngoudjo the way Paulie did that night.
