  1. Yes, susceptible individuals can become allergic to a great variety of food allergens. Allergies to pecans and walnuts are not uncommon. Some people are allergic to all kinds of "nuts".

  2. I recently read (I think in PopSci Magazine) that it's HOW peanuts are processed that people are allergic to not the peanuts themselves.  People in other parts of the world don't have 'serious' peanut allergies because most everywhere else boils peanuts where as in America we roast them.  Although both methods are practiced roasting is more popular in America especially in the last century.

  3. Yes.

You can become allergic to just about anything. There are even cases of people being allergic to the cold (rare yes). It is just that some are more prevalent then others.

  4. yes, some people are allergic to all types of nuts.

  5. I am allergic to peanuts, pecans, pistachios, and I dont know about cashews, but I don't want to find out. Almonds and walnuts don't have an effect on me.

  6. I recently read that cashew allergies are on the rise.
