People in America, is anyone else mad about the way NBC is showing the Olympics?

I swear, there's more commercial than actual coverage, and the announcers are just plain annoying. And why the h**l is beach volleyball always on?!

Too many commercials. Doesn't NBC already make enough money with all the shows they air every night? That is greedy of NBC. Their coverage is no better than dog sh*t.

You're not alone dear, i'm mad too. It seem as if nbc is only showing selective sports where the viewing audience is more, so they can get them to watch commercials. After all that's how they get most of their money. Also they're showing certain sports live and others delayed. Most of these sporting events can be shown live, but they know that the bulk of the audience isn't around at the time when these sports a going on live. So they have to delay showing it until the majority of the audience is available to watch commercials around 8pm to 11pm, 11pm to 6am (people are alseep)

If you knew anything, you would know that NBC is in it for the ratings...Beach volleyball features scantily clad women, boxing is people beathing the **** out of one another.  We also show sports that we are good at.  No one turns on American TV to see someone from Belarus play ping-pong...

totally agree.  I'm from CA and there's no live coverage.  They show boxing, baseball, beach volleyball all the time. I'm disappointed in NBC.

they show the usa basketball games but they show them live in the morning and i never get to watch them because im at school,and that my favorite thing to watch.they should show reruns later in the day.but of course they are goin to show mainly americans,i mean we are living in america.why would they show an australian medal ceremony in america.however i would like them to show other countries sports more.mainly basketball,like spain and argentina.

I AGREE! None of the sports that I actually care about are on air. It's either table tennis, for whatever reason, beach volleyball, or boxing.

I believe overall we are seeing more Olympic coverage this year than ever before.   Between NBC, USA, Oxygen, CNBC, MSNBC, and depending on your cable company HD Universal, NBCs Olympic 1 and 2 channel, and their internet coverage you see a good crosssection  of each of the sports.  

The commercials on NBC are heavy but no more heavy that what I saw during the last Olympics.

If you have HD Universal and NBCs Olympic 1 and 2 channels the commercials are very limited.

As for the announcers they can be annoying at times with to many teary stories.

Beach volleyball is a good sport that we are excelling in so it must be shown duh....

I do agree theres to much commercials

and its not media bias we obvioulsy wanna see ourselves do good were not gonna watch china own in ping pong lol(hough i'd like too)

Tell me about it. You get a star for this one. I swear I'm about to carve Bob Costas', Bela Karolyi's and Tim Dagget's names into a bullet made just for them. And doesn't NBC realize that more than half of America has roots in other countries and as such, we would actually like to see other teams and not just good old USA? I guess not. Great question.

YES! agree 100%! and also, they don't show the other 204 countries that compete. did anyone get to see Jamaica's medal ceremony? did anyone get to see the diving competitions?

it's sad to see all the media bias. and truthfully, the medals are ranked by who has the most gold, not overall. other countries recognize this, but not nbc.

DVR is the only way to watch it because you can then record it all and parse through all of the beach volleyball. I must admit that I got to watch the velodrome cycling and some field hockey where the USA was not even playing.

DVR also allows you to fast forward through commercials and Bob Costas' annoying diatribe.

Yes. They seem to need to say Michael Phelps or Nastia Lukin every 5 seconds. Nothing against those two, but there are other things going on.

It would be nice if they would show more of the competitions and not just the Americans too.

Agree!  NBC 's Olympics is all about:

a) Idolize Michael Phelps (yes, Michael is a great athlete, but we also need to see more olympics games, other than just interview him or his mom again and again and again!)

b) Blame on Chinese tem or the judges for any of American gymnatic team's lose (again and again!)

c) Beach volleyball

Can we please watch something else of the Olympics???
